Just a ride...

Lately, I've not been riding my bike "just because" very much. I've been focused on working out the particulars of the new bike commute out to Alliance Airport, so the only other rides have been shorties to the grocery store, library, or the local Starbucks (they closed yesterday).

This morning, I decided Frankenbike needed a little more exercise, so I went to Fort Worth to renew my acquaintence with the Sundance Square Starbucks. It's not hard to get there from Colleyville, courtesy of the TRE, but it's somehow more fun than a straight Mid-Cities ride. Call me a softie for trains.

I cut the visit short when it started sprinking, but the rain was refreshing. Tell Rat Trap someone painted graffiti on the Starbucks bike star. And who are those guys, dressed up like bike police (but with yellow helmets), that ride around on the Fort Worth sidewalks? They imported from Dallas?

It is hard for me to just "ride". I am always steaming ahead at full power.

I have to deliberately tell myself to slow down sometimes, if I want to enjoy cycling at a slower pace.

I should do it more often!

why take the tre to get from colleyville to downtown? There is a great route to get there with out loosing the pedal time. email me.

Why take the TRE? Because it's THERE and it was Saturday and because I don't get to take it very often anymore now that I work at Alliance.

HM makes a good point; it's dirt simple to get to Fort Worth by bike - unlike Dallas. The 121 Service Road takes you almost all the way in, and then you just peel off for the part you want to wind up in.

Hey, isn't he the guy that causes everyone riding with him to crash?

Does anyone know a good Dallas to Ft Worth route? I'd like to try that some day.

More specifically, I'd be going from WRL to Mira Vista (Benbrook/Hulen area).
