I have a pair of shorts just like that. It never occurred to me to wear them while cycling. I think the heat might be affecting our intrepid poster...

I believe that was the same kit Jan Ullrich was sporting during the iff-fated Tour de Suisse back in '97 when he had to withdraw after breaking into a stirring rendition of "The Hills Are Alive" during a particularly difficult mountain stage.
